Title
To refer the Town Manager's proposed budget for fiscal year 2026-2027 to the Town Council's Finance Committee for its review and recommendation.

II. Basis for Council Action.

Council approval of this item is required because;

a. Pursuant to Article V, Section 2 of the Charter "the Town Manager, not less than ninety (90) days prior to the beginning of the new fiscal year, shall submit to the Council a budget," and
b. Pursuant to Section 27, Paragraph 3 of the Council Rules the "Finance Committee shall have the duty to meet with the Town Manager to review the manager's recommended annual budget, and to make recommendations thereon to the Town Council."

III. Issue Summary.

The Council's Finance Committee will tentatively begin its review of the budget March 4, 2026, and continue on March 11th, March 18th, and March 25th. The meetings are open to the public and will be televised. Meetings will be posted online where Council meeting agendas are posted.

Upon conclusion of the Finance Committee's deliberation, they will report to the full council. The Council then will hold at least one budget public hearing before voting on the budget by May 12th for action by the budgetary town meeting June 13th.
