Title
To approve applications for property tax assistance pursuant to Chapter 209, Article I of the Code of the Town of Windham, “Property Tax Assistance.”

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. Pursuant to Section 6 of the Property Tax Assistance Ordinance, Chapter 209, Article I as adopted by the Council on October 10, 2017, the Council shall consider approval “at its second meeting in August each year the projected payments and number of eligible applicants requesting assistance from the program fund.”
III. Issue Summary.
The Council carried forward $49,541 from fiscal year 2022 and budgeted $100,000 in the program fund for fiscal year 2022-2023. Eligibility for this refund is based on applicants’ household income for 2021 and taxes paid for 2021-2022.
Application deadlines were August 1, 2022.
