I. Council Action Requested.

To award a contract for snow plowing services to Sumerian Irrigation, for the period covering fiscal years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, in the amounts of $111.343.00 for year one, $114,683.29 for year two, $118,123.79 for year three, and $121,667.57 for years four and five; an aggregate cost of $587,485.22.

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. The Council has the authority to enter into contracts as the legislative body of the Town pursuant to Article II, Section 3(I) of the Charter,
b. Section 5 of the town’s purchasing policies requires Council approval for any purchase in an amount that exceeds the amount allowed in the annual operating budget, and
c. This order contemplates the approval of a multi-year contract that extends beyond the current fiscal year.
III. Issue Summary.
Sumerian Irrigation has plowed for the town for the last three years and was the only bidder to the advertised request for proposal.
