I.                     Council Action Requested.

Title

To grant preliminary approval of a proposal from Tyler Technologies to upgrade and migrate the town’s financial system to the MUNIS Software-as-a-Service platform as outlined in the recommendation of the Council’s finance committee and discussed at the Council meeting of October 4, 2016, subject to final approval pending contract review by staff and legal counsel.

 

Body

II.                     Basis for Council Action.

 

Council approval of this item is required because;

 

a.                     The Council has the authority to enter into contracts as the legislative body of the Town pursuant to Article II, Section 3(1) of the Charter, and

b.                     Council action is required because the order authorizes a purchase requiring financing under Section 5, Paragraph 4 of the Purchasing Policy adopted by order 09-105 on July 28, 2009.

 

III.                     Issue Summary.

 

Staff and legal counsel are/will be reviewing the final proposal and contract from Tyler Technologies and following up on questions and issues raised at the Council meeting of October 4, 2016. This review is expected to be complete in time for the Council to consider final approval at its meeting of October 25, 2016.
