I.                     Council Action Requested.

Title

To decommission the Dundee Park Advisory Committee, and to express the Council’s profound gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the town and its residents for the work of the committee and all of its members over the years to help turn Dundee Park into the community asset it is today.

II.                     Basis for Council Action.

Council approval of this item is required because;

a.  According to Article II, Section 3(C) of the Charter, the Town Council has the authority to “[a]ppoint… the membership of such advisory committees as the Council shall create,” and

 

b.  The committee being proposed for decommissioning was established by order of the Council.

 

III.                     Issue Summary.

This committee was created by Council order 96-119 (July 23, 1996) to “promote, enhance and improve the recreational value of Dundee Park in a way that encourages community involvement.  The committee, in cooperation with the Director of Parks and Recreation, shall recommend options and strategies to the Windham Town Council.”
