Title: To receive comment on the proposed issuance of up to $9,300,000 in general obligation bonds or notes of the Town and appropriate of the proceeds thereof to pay the costs of design, construction and equipping of a new shared vehicle maintenance facility located at property on Windham Center Road, with the details of such borrowing (including provisions that the bonds may be prepaid or subject to call for redemption with or without premium and the dates, maturities, denominations, and interest rates) to be determined by the Town Council.

Body

By unanimous votes at its meeting of September 19, 2017 (orders 17-158 and 17-165) the Town Council formally placed a referendum question on the ballot for the shared maintenance facility project and recommended a “yes” vote.

 

Attached are copies of the warrant and financial statement, as required by statute, the specimen ballot, an informational flyer on the project and a summary of the project budget.

 

Along with the Council’s required public hearing, the team formed jointly by the Town Council and RSU 14 school board has scheduled open houses and other events on September 12, September 23, October 7, October 12, October 14, and October 28, produced an informational flyer, video, and web page; developed and mailed a postcard; and placed ads informing the public of the project and the upcoming vote.
