Little Sebago Lake Association - Florence Manchester Park Property

In July the Council approved an agreement with the Little Sebago Lake Association to used town-owned property for storage of boats and other equipment used in the association’s milfoil control efforts. At the July 25 meeting the possibility of transferring the property to the association was brought up. This discussion is to follow up on that possibility.
The property referred to as “Florence Manchester Park” was shown as a “park” on a 1945 plan of “Manchester Development on the West Shore of Tarkill Cove,” and is listed by the assessing office as being owned by the town. While other lots in the “Manchester Development” appear to have rights to access the property, there does not appear to be a barrier to the town allowing others to use its rights, or even for the town to transfer its rights without extinguishing or otherwise affecting the rights of other lot owners. Further legal guidance is being sought on this matter in advance of the meeting on December 5.
