I. Council Action Requested.
Title
To approve an application for the Windham Veterans Association for a license to conduct beano and games of chance at Dena’s Lobster House and Tavern from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018.

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. 17 M.R.S.A. § 333 requires the application for a license to operate a game of chance to bear the consent of the municipal officers of the community in which the game of chance is to be operated, and
b. Pursuant to Article II, Section 1 of the Charter “[t]he Town Council, hereinafter called the ‘Council’, shall be and constitute the municipal officers of the Town.”

Please refer to the attached application. The association was previously granted a blanket letter of approval by the Council (order 16-212) at its meeting of December 13, 2016.
