To appoint a representative to the ecomaine board of directors.

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. the bylaws of ecomaine require member communities to appoint representatives to its board of directors,
b. Windham is assigned one (1) member of the ecomaine board of directors,
c. the three year term of the current representative to the ecomaine board of directors expires this year, and
d. pursuant to Article II, Section 1 of the Charter "[t]he Town Council, hereinafter called the 'Council', shall be and constitute the municipal officers of the Town."
III. Issue Summary.
Town manager Tony Plante was first appointed to the Regional Waste Systems (now ecomaine) board of directors in 1996. He has served as secretary, treasurer, vice chairman, and chairman of the board, on the finance committee, and as Windham's (and Windham and Gorham's, when the two communities were first combined in a district) representative on ecomaine's Executive Committee. He was last reappointed in 2015 and is interested in continuing to serve on the board.
