II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a.) Pursuant to Article II, Section 4(B) of the Charter, the Town Council "by order shall fix the salaries of officials appointed by the Town Council," and
b.) Pursuant to Article II, Section 3(B) of the Charter, the Town Council appoints the town assessor.
III. Issue Summary.
As a direct appointee of the Town Council, the assessor's salary and benefits are set by the Council. The Assessor's anniversary date of original appointment is December 23rd.
