I. Council Action Requested.
Title
To discuss and act on a contract for solid waste and recyclable materials collection for the period July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023 as specified in the memo from the Public Works Director dated February 20, 2020 and to authorize the Town Manager to take necessary action to finalize the agreement.

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. The Council has the authority to enter into contracts as the legislative body of the Town pursuant to Article II, Section 3(I) of the Charter, and
b. This order contemplates the approval of a multi-year contract extension that begins after the conclusion of the current fiscal year.
III. Issue Summary.
Please refer to the attached memo from the Public Works Director which outlines the cost of both a 3-year curbside trash and recycling program and a proposed 10-year automated trash and recycling program.
