I. Council Action Requested.
Title
To allow taxes due April 1, 2020 for tax year 2019-2020 to be received up to June 1, 2020 with no interest payments.

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. Title 36 M.R.S.A. §505(2) states that "a municipality may, with respect to the tax, by vote determine... [t]he date or dates when property taxes shall become due and payable," and
b. Pursuant to Article II, Section 3(I) of the Charter the Town Council has the authority to “[e]xercise all the legislative, financial, borrowing and other powers now or hereafter given by statute to inhabitants of towns acting in Town Meeting.”
III. Issue Summary.
Council Rules were waived to add this during the meeting of March 24th. An order number was assigned to this order after the fact.
