I. Council Action Requested.
Title
To adopt a resolution and endorse the application to the U.S. Congress’ Community Funding Program, through the Office of U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, for $1,000,000 in funding towards the Morrell land acquisition; a 585+ acre parcel that abuts the 308-acre Lowell Preserve and the 520-acre Town of Falmouth and Falmouth Land Trust conservation land, to be forever preserved for conservation with public access for recreational activities, and to authorize the Town Manager to submit the application and take any other necessary action related thereto.

II. Basis for Council Action.
Council approval of this item is required because;
a. Pursuant to Article II, Section 3(I) of the Charter, the Town Council shall "[e]xercise all the legislative, financial, borrowing and other powers now or hereafter given by statute to inhabitants of towns acting in Town Meeting except as otherwise provided herein, and also exercise all the powers now or hereafter given by statute to municipal officers of towns.”
