II.                     Basis for Council Action.

Council approval of this item is required because;

a.                     There is a vacant seat on the Council, and

b.                     Pursuant to Article II, Section 2(D), “In case of a vacancy caused by death, resignation or other cause, the vacancy shall be filled at the next regular Municipal election for the unexpired term.  The Council shall fill vacancies in its number occurring between regular Municipal elections, and the term of office of any member of the Council so chosen shall expire at the next Municipal election.”

III.                     Issue Summary.

The Council requested that we advertise the vacancy on the council.  The deadline for applications to the vacant At-Large seat was May 13^th and interviews were held at a special meeting on May 18, 2021.
